LEED at American Concrete, Paint & Drywall Washouts, Inc.
LEED- American Concrete Washouts Inc., knows how to properly document your recycled material for LEED credits. From San Diego California to Houston Texas we have been providing LEED documentation for Concrete Washout for the past several years. Upon request, we will provide you by email:
1) A statement that explains how we recycle the solids and most importantly how we capture, treat and recycle the liquids.
2) Provide job tickets for services
3) Provide a detailed and certified Excel spreadsheet that shows every service, with detailed concrete washout recycling weights for liquids and solids.
4) provide copies of our discharge permits
We are one of the few companies who can actually vacuum your washout water and document it. A major factor when choosing a washout provider.
The LEED Green Building Rating System recognizes recycled concrete in its point system. Credit for (Materials and Resources) states, “specify a minimum of 25% of building materials that contain in aggregate a minimum weighted average of 20% post-consumer recycled content material, OR, a minimum weighted average of 40% post-industrial recycled content material.” Using recycled aggregates instead of extracted aggregates would qualify as post-consumer. Because concrete is an assembly, its recycled content should be calculated as a percentage of recycled material on a mass basis.
Credit can also be obtained for Construction Waste Management. It is awarded based on diverting at least 50% by mass of construction, demolition, and land clearing waste from landfill disposal. Concrete is a relatively heavy construction material and is frequently recycled into aggregate for road bases or construction fill. See Building Green with Concrete: Points for Concrete in LEED® for more information on the LEED® rating system.
Construction Waste Management (Materials and Resources Credit 2).This credit is received for diverting construction, demolition, and land clearing waste from landfill disposal. It is awarded based on diverting at least 50% by weight of the above listed materials. Because concrete is a relatively heavy construction material and is frequently crushed and recycled into aggregate for road bases or construction fill, this credit should be obtainable when concrete buildings are demolished. This credit is worth 1 point if 50% of the construction, demolition, and land clearing waste is recycled or salvaged and 2 points for 75%.
